Saturday, November 8th - a report for donors seeking an in-depth analysis & vision of philanthropy's role in the fight against global warming:

This is a great report and an excellent resource: "Design to Win: Philanthropy's Role in the Fight Against Global Warming." It was prepared by California Environmental Associates with support from six foundations, including the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation (and Hal Harvey, who is now with ClimateWorks, more on that in a future post).

"
. . . how can philanthropists turn the tide against global warming? Never before have donors, foundations, policymakers and the general public confronted such a complex, far-reaching crisis. Left unattended, human-induced climate change could overshadow all our other efforts to cure diseases, reduce poverty, prevent warfare and preserve biodiversity. Global, collective action is paramount. The stakes – and hurdles – could not be any higher."
